About JVNY

"Jeunes Virtuoses de New York" (JVNY) is an ensemble of exceptionally accomplished young musicians who perform on both sides of the Atlantic both as a string camerata, and in various chamber music configurations.

Members of JVNY have been winners of several national and international competitions, have served as concertmasters in many of the most prestigious youth orchestras in the country, and have appeared as soloists with numerous student and professional orchestras. Most of the violinists and violists in the ensemble are students of JVNY artistic director, Arik Braude, and JVNY junior workshop director, Sophie Arbuckle.

JVNY originated in 2007, when French harpsichordist, Georges Kiss, director of "Fêtes musicales de Savoie" in France (www.fetesmusicalesdesavoie.com)  invited violinist, Arik Braude to bring a selected group of his students to perform as a string camerata. The outstanding success of these concerts with the French audiences led the project to evolve into a yearly workshop, featuring this ensemble of outstanding young string players. Since then, "Jeunes Virtuoses de New York" have appeared in numerous concerts in the United States and France, and have collaborated with young artists in France, Gerrmany, and Belgium.  In the spirit of the JVNY mission, members of this ensemble have also received unique, inspiring opportunities to collaborate on stage with some of the most prominent musicians in New York.
